Try "withdrawal sleeve", "clearance" or "shutdown date".

  • Full FAG designation, not a shortened code
  • Sleeves and housings listed with their bearing
  • One line per bearing position

The three questions buyers ask most

Most wrong deliveries and site shortages come from three gaps: a missing special version, missing sleeves or housings, and a slow reference check after a failure. Each one is fixed in the enquiry, before the quote.

01

How do I state the vibration or high-temperature version in my enquiry?

Copy the complete FAG designation from the old bearing or the equipment documentation, including every suffix, and say in words which duty it is for: vibrating equipment or elevated temperature.

  • · Full designation with all suffixes
  • · Equipment type and bearing position
  • · Photo of the marking on the old ring

02

Can adapter sleeves and withdrawal sleeves be quoted together with the bearing?

Yes. Adapter sleeves, withdrawal sleeves and housings can be quoted on the same enquiry as the bearing they belong to, so the mounting set arrives complete for the shutdown.

  • · List each accessory under its bearing
  • · Give a quantity for each item
  • · Add the shutdown date

03

A large bearing just failed. How do we confirm the FAG reference fastest?

Send photos of the markings on the failed bearing, the equipment type and the bearing position on WhatsApp straight away. The reference and version are confirmed with you before the quote is issued.

  • · Clear photos of ring markings
  • · Machine type, e.g. cement mill or crusher
  • · Destination and date needed

01 Special duty versions

Special versions for vibration and high-temperature duty

An FAG bearing for vibrating screens or hot equipment is identified by its complete designation, not just the base size. Quote it in full and the version can be checked before any price is given.

Why does the full FAG designation matter?

The full designation is the only way to tell a standard bearing from a version made for a specific duty. Two bearings can share the same boundary dimensions but differ in cage, clearance or heat treatment. A shortened code risks a bearing that fits the shaft but not the operating conditions.

How are clearance and version confirmed?

They are confirmed against your stated duty before the quote is accepted. Tell us the required clearance class and whether the position is under vibration or elevated temperature. Reliability engineers can also add load direction, misalignment and lubrication details so the reference is checked against the real duty.

How are alternatives shown in a quote?

Any alternative is shown on a separate line and marked as an alternative, never swapped in silently. Tell us in your enquiry whether alternatives may be considered at all. The requested reference always stays on the quote for comparison.

Who approves a technical change?

The buyer approves every technical change. A different version, clearance or series is only supplied after your written approval. This keeps the decision with your maintenance and reliability team.

02 Mounting accessories

Housings, adapter sleeves and withdrawal sleeves

Housings and sleeves should be listed directly under the bearing they mount, on the same enquiry. That way the full set can be quoted and checked together before a mill or crusher shutdown.

How do I list housings and sleeves with the right bearing?

Put each accessory on its own line under its bearing, with its own quantity. Example: position number, bearing designation, then adapter or withdrawal sleeve, then housing. Do not group all sleeves at the end of the list, because that is where mismatches happen.

What is most often forgotten in a mill or crusher overhaul?

The parts most often left off are adapter sleeves, withdrawal sleeves and housing-related parts. The bearing is ordered, but the sleeve it mounts on is not, and the crew is left waiting on site. Check every tapered-bore bearing on your list for its sleeve before you send it.

Adapter sleeve or withdrawal sleeve: which one do I have?

Give us the designation marked on the existing sleeve; that is the clearest answer. An adapter sleeve clamps a tapered-bore bearing onto a plain shaft. A withdrawal sleeve is pressed in between shaft and bearing and pulled out to remove it. If the marking is unreadable, send photos and the shaft details.

03 Shutdown orders

Listing several large bearing positions in one shutdown order

Number every bearing position separately and never merge them into one total quantity. One enquiry can cover many positions on planned maintenance, but each position needs its own line, version and accessories.

✕ Avoid

Merged quantity

Spherical roller bearings for mill — qty 6
  • · No position numbers
  • · Special version unclear per position
  • · Sleeves and housings missing

✓ Recommended

One line per position

  1. P01 · Mill drive end · full FAG designation · vibration version · sleeve + housing · qty 1
  2. P02 · Mill non-drive end · full FAG designation · sleeve + housing · qty 1
  3. P03 · Gearbox input · full FAG designation · qty 2

Add the shutdown date, destination country and postcode, and the date the goods are needed.

We buy for several sites with mixed lists. Can one enquiry cover it?

Yes, as long as each line names its site, equipment and position. Maintenance contractors can send one mixed list; keeping it sorted by site makes the check and delivery simpler. Both one-off urgent replacements and planned overhaul orders are handled.

04 Quotes & delivery

Written quotes, product documents and shipping

Every quote is written and lists the items you need to compare and approve. Review specs, quantities, delivery details, payment and commercial terms before you place the order.

What a written quote from Heavy Industrial Machinery Company includes
Quote itemWhat you check
Product designation & quantityMatches each numbered position
Price & currencyUnit and line totals
Stock status & estimated lead timeFits your shutdown date
Quote validityApproval window for your team
Freight or tax termsWhere they apply
What does the written quote include?

It includes designation, quantity, price and currency, stock status, estimated lead time, quote validity and any freight or tax terms that apply. Alternatives, if any, appear on separate marked lines.

How do I ask for product documents?

Name the documents you need in the enquiry and ask which can actually be supplied for that order. The answer is given per order, before you accept the quote, so there are no surprises at receiving.

How are shipping method and transport documents confirmed?

They are confirmed together with you after the order, before dispatch. Agree the transport method, the shipping schedule and the transport documents your import or site needs. Give the destination country and postcode early so freight can be quoted correctly.

05 Receiving

Checking goods on arrival and reporting a discrepancy

On arrival, check product labels, quantities and visible condition against the order. If anything differs, contact us with the order number and photos so it can be handled.
